Tech Data strengthens Azlan’s lead in Belgium by entering into agreement to acquire Source N.V.
Azlan will benefit from an additional 29 highly skilled professionals, the full portfolio of EMC², SUN and other value add services.
TERNAT (BELGIUM), February, 2010 – Tech Data (NASDAQ: TECD), a leading distributor of IT products, today announced it has entered into an agreement to acquire Source N.V., a leading value add distributor in Belgium. Under the terms of the agreement, which is subject to customary closing conditions, the acquisition is expected to be completed during the second quarter of 2010.
Source carries the full portfolio of EMC², SUN and associated offerings and is recognized as a leader in storage distribution.
With this acquisition, a 29 strong team of highly skilled and qualified professionals will join Tech Data’s value added enterprise division, Azlan, thereby complementing its existing market leadership in networking and communication, and significantly upgrading the existing midrange server, storage and software business. In addition, it further reinforces Azlan’s presence in the Belgium enterprise technology market and provides existing customers of Source access to Tech Data’s unrivalled stock-holding, logistics and financial services.
Existing Azlan customers will benefit from additional EMC² and SUN products and services including market leading pre- and post-sales support and integration, and a comprehensive training program that includes specialized courses for individuals, enterprises and public institutions.
